LeMay's takes home NAFA title

NORTH MANKATO - The LeMay's Humphrey Street Grill men's fastpitch team of
Lake Crystal captured the North American Fastpitch Association 23 and Under
World Series championship Sunday afternoon at Caswell Park.

Led by Pitcher Joe Cooley, who had two wins Sunday, LeMay's defeated the
Kegel Black Knights of Fargo 9-4 in the final.

LeMay's jumped out to a 3-1 lead after a three-run second inning and added
four runs in the fourth en route to the title.

LeMay's opened bracket play in the four-team tournament with a 15-2 win over
the KC Reds of Kansas City, Kan. John Paul Peterson got the win, and Derek
Nau hit a home run.

After that, LeMay's sent Kegel to the losers bracket with a 3-0 win. Kegel
came out of the losers bracket to face LeMay's again in the championship.

In the NAFA World Series, which also concluded Sunday, Kelder Poured Walls
of Scottville, Mich., defeated Buist Electric of Byron Center, Mich., 3-2 in
the championship game.
